Hello All Provincial 'A' Teams!

The Gloucester Cumberland Committee for the Provincial 'A' Ringette Championships, continues to work hard to prepare what we hope will be a wonderful experience for everybody involved. At this time, we want to provide some preliminary information to all associations and 'A' teams, regarding the Opening Ceremonies.

We realize that you may not be certain that you're attending the Provincials but there is potential for everyone so please read on.

Key points for Opening Ceremonies:

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A $5.00 PARKING CHARGE ANYWHERE ON THE CARLETON UNIVERSITY CAMPUS.   There are Parking meters along all roads in the Campus and the Parking Lots are clearly marked in Green with a "P and the lot number" on the Campus Map below which shows the Alumni Hall and Sports Center.

  The Opening Ceremonies will be held at Carleton University on Thursday, March 19th from 7pm-9pm (of course the teams will be asked to arrive earlier). "The Ravens' Nest" is a beautiful gymnasium on campus which will host all 50 teams and their fans located in the Alumni Hall and Sports Center, marked AH on this link.   

We would like each coach to sign in at the Registration table when they arrive at the Raven's Nest.

  Despite efforts to the contrary, we have not been able to overturn the nominal parking fee (approx. $5) at the University.  As always, car pooling is encouraged.

  The theme of these provincials is, "Ringette: Then and Now", which is a salute to ringette's wonderful history and on-going excitement.

  Please help us get ready for Opening Ceremonies!

the following:
  -   The logo and colours of your Association
  -   Ringette photos from the 'olden days' (or a few years back)
  -   Photos of your team enjoying their season (i.e. on and off ice, group and individual pictures). Send the       photos you have now and continue to send as you acquire more memories of the season.

The earlier the pictures are sent the better the chance of seeing them on the jumbo screen at the Opening Ceremonies.

**Please specify the association/team/division/and date with each email you send along to the above address**

  Athletes (and their coaches and managers) are invited to show their team spirit by dressing in costume. Keep in mind the theme, "Then and Now", for possible inspiration for your costume.

  Much Music will provide music, video, a jumbo slide show of all participating teams' photos, and dancing.

  During the parade of athletes into the gym, each team will have approximately 10 seconds on "stage" to show off their costumes and team spirit, and to strike a pose for the photographer. Team photos will be made available to the teams and will be displayed on the GCRA website - Provincials page.

** Please inform all of your parents of this portion of the evening. If you have a player without photographic permission, please ensure that her face is not visible for the photograph. No individual athletes' names will be listed with the photos**

Gloucester-Cumberland is looking forward to hosting you in March. Good luck to you as you work toward the Ringette Provincial 'A' Championships 2009!
