Tournament Sponsors                  Team Sponsors

Executive Members, Players, Teams, Tournament Officials are continually out seeking Sponsors. Current Tournament & Team Sponsors are shown on the links in blue above. The following paragraphs outline some of the reasons sponsoring Gloucester-Cumberland Ringette would be beneficial to your company and to our youth.

INTRODUCTION

This outline is intended to illustrate how an investment in Gloucester-Cumberland Ringette, and thereby the youth of the combined communities of Gloucester and Cumberland, can be financially rewarding for your business. Your sponsorship results in GCRA posting an advertisement and link to it on it's website for the following season. People searching for your business can type your company's name into a search engine such as Google or Yahoo and be instantly directed to your ad. A modest investment in a GCRA Ringette Team or Program can increase business traffic, provide you with low cost advertising and also a tax break for publicity. Moreover you will also demonstrate your community interest and help our youth participate in Competitive Sport.

HISTORY

The Gloucester Ringette Association (G.R.A.) was formed in 1972 to administer and promote the sport of Ringette in Gloucester. Gloucester and Cumberland Ringette Associations merged in 2002. Since their inception, G.C.R.A. has grown steadily to become one of the largest of more than sixty Ringette Association in the Province.

Today, with 20 teams and 300 players, coaches and officials, the G.C.R.A. has proved to be a dominating force on the Provincial and National Ringette scene. This combined with an additional 100 teams from the National Capital area brings and extra 1,450 participants together to compete in a regular interlocking schedule of almost 120 teams with more than 1,750 players. These players, combined with their family and friends, administrators, officials, and coaches, provide a substantial captive market for your advertising investment.

In the brief 20 some year history of the National Championships, Gloucester Competitive Ringette teams have been Canadian Champions nine times and runners up on seven more occasions. In doing so, they have captured 30 Provincial Championships in 6 different age groups. Our teams continue to be significant and challenging entries in the numerous tournaments we attend each year. As a point of interest, in the last ten years, Gloucester teams have won 23 Provincial Championships, 20 Silver Medals, and 16 Bronze Medals along with some 15 Team Sportsmanship Awards.

The Annual Gloucester-Cumberland Tournament has traditionally drawn more than 100 teams from six provinces, with the majority from various parts of Ontario. The Gloucester-Cumberland Invitational Ringette Tournament combines all four levels of Competitive Play in eight different age groups over a five day period in February.

The Gloucester-Cumberland "Devils" Competitive teams have competed at the elite level for 29 years. Our teams will once again compete at the highest competitive level for community teams in the province. As well, we provide meaningful competition and fun for every player in the city, regardless of skill level. We encourage development of "life skills" and "team concept" qualities that will last a lifetime. As a result of combining all city players, who desire and are capable of playing at this level, our city representative teams have been very talented. Because of the tremendous success of our previous "AA", "A", "B", "C" and Bunny programs, this year's edition of teams will again be excellent. We are very pleased and proud of our exceptional Bunny Program, a learn to skate, skills and team building program. Many players on our National and Provincial Championships teams got their start as a "Gloucester or Cumberland Bunny"

Our teams play an 18 game schedule in the National Capital Region Ringette League (NCRRL), against teams from across the Ottawa Valley. We play additional league and exhibition games against teams from l'Outaouais and the Montreal area. Teams go to four, possibly five, local tournaments spreading your corporate name across the National Capital Region. Teams also go to two or three invitational tournaments, as well as hosting our own Annual Tournament in March. Our Tournament is one of the most prestigous in Canada, well known as one of the largest ringette tournaments in the world. It is held annually just one month prior to the Ontario Championships.

For your dollar, there is an additional bonus. Not only will GCRA host our own tournament, but at this year's Ontario AA Championships Gloucester-Cumberland Devils will provide teams for all ages groups in early March. In mid February our A Teams will compete at the Regional Provincial Preliminary Championships in Pembroke, for the right to proceed to the Provincial A Championships in Mid March. With all the experience gained over the years, our teams have set winning another medal, hopefully gold, as team goals this year.

However, winning Provincial Championships isn't our only positive attribute. Our teams have gained a reputation as being good ambassadors of our community. We are very proud to tell you that while we often win Tournament Championships, our athletes always display class, sportsmanship and dignity. We will wear our sponsor's name proudly in our pursuit of excellence.

PURPOSE

We are asking you to participate as a sponsor for this season for your choice of programs, such as our Invitational Tournament, the Provincial Championships, or to sponsor players, either as a complete Team Sponsor or one member of a Gloucester-Cumberland Team. If you chose to sponsor one athlete, this sponsorship will be applied to this particular player to help offset the costs involved in playing competitive ringette. If you chose to sponsor a team, then your sponsorship would be spread across the costs of all members of the team and their associated costs.

Your sponsorship is directly to assist funding of ice costs, tournament fees, officiating ,travel, etc. Your most helpful contribution won't be used to offset the cost of any personal equipment, such as skates and sticks, unless specifically so stated by you.

You can see, your sponsorship is not intended to cover all costs, but will go a long way to assist in the operating expense of a ringette team or program. Your contribution will not only be of benefit to the player(s) concerned, but also to the association and the community, by enabling this competitive sport to be accessible to all participants.
