This year, each team is required
to appoint a Tournament Representative. This person will
represent the team on matters related to the GCRA Annual Tournament
and assists the Tournament Committee in administration of the
tournament. This volunteer can expect to contribute 3-5 hours
of their time as a trouble-shooter or with other duties. We greatly
appreciate the fact that many members have assisted with the tournament
in the past, but the participation is not always from all teams
and divisions. That means some individuals spend a full weekend
in arenas or carry the load for several teams. Unfortunately,
teams and divisions that have not identified Tournament Representatives
may find that we are unable to offer play at that level during
the Annual GCRA Tournament. |

Under new rules adopted by the
Eastern Region Ringette Association, direct recruiting of players
between associations, which has always been illegal, can result
in a team or association fine of $1000. According to the
rules, contact between associations looking for players must be
done from association president to association president. There
are no exceptions! Parents and players, if you receive a call
directly from a coach or representative of another association
- they are in direct violation of the rules. Please contact a
member of the association executive immediately if you receive
such a call. |

The 2003 tryout schedule
will be posted on the Association website during the last two
weeks of August. If you do not have access to the internet, we
would be pleased to mail you a tryout schedule if you telephone
us at 830-9124 - just leave your name and address on the recording. |
