Waterloo, Ont - Sat, Apr 5, 2003 - Open wins Silver Medal at Nationals. - Gloucester-Cumberland Devils lost to undefeated Alberta 8-3 on Saturday afternoon. Katie Allen scored twice and Jennifer Gaudet added another in the loss. Shots on goal were very close in the game and territorial play much the same. The difference Alberta's shots threaded the needle and found the mark, Ontario's didn't. 7 different players scored for Alberta, a difficult task to shut down any one player when the goals come from so many different sources. A silver medal is nothing to sneeze at, but somehow I believe the Ontario athletes will not take much solace in that. From us the fans we say thank you and congratulations for a very good run right up to and including the final game.
