Gloucester Belles WIN BRONZE at the 23rd annual National Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Alberta wins GOLD, Saskatchewan wins SILVER, in a 4 - 1 Final at the Canadian Ringette Championships at High Noon Saturday!   The Devils lost a heart breaker to Saskatchewan 6 - 4 Friday afternoon to win their Bronze Medal. Sask had defeated B.C. 6 to 4 Friday morning in final day round robin action. That win guaranteed the Devils a place in the Semi Final Game Friday afternoon. ~~~ In earlier round robin action Gloucester, Ontario's representative team at the Nationals lost to undefeated Alberta 5 - 3 Thursday afternoon. They had defeated the Southeast New Brunswick Team 10 - 3 in the morning. With BC, and Ontario both winning and losing Thursday, and Sask winning both their games, the Devils were in a three way tie for Second Place going into last day round robin action. ~~~ They won twice Wednesday.   Gloucester's Catherine Rochon posted two goals and two assists in a nail biting 6 - 5, one goal victory over Saskatchewan Wednesday morning. The Devils had a 7 - 4 win against Quebec in the afternoon. ~~~ The Devils had lost their first game of the Championships early Tuesday evening.   The Belle Devils loss Tuesday afternoon was to Manitoba 6 - 5 in an exciting match after easily defeating New Brunswick 7 - 0 earlier in the morning. ~~~ The Belles had defeated Nova Scotia 8 - 1 Monday morning and then P.E.I.  7 - 0 also Monday, the Opening Day of the Canadian Ringette Championships.

Alberta Wins Gold, B.C. Silver in a 5 - 2 Albeta victory in the final of the Open Division. Quebec took home a Bronze medal with a 7 - 6 loss to B.C. in the Semi Final. ~~~ The Gloucester Open AA's, lost to Sask. in their final round robin game Friday morning while representing Ontario at the Nationals. The exciting 3 - 2 loss knocked the Devils out of Medal contention to finish with 5 wins and 4 losses, dropping them to a 5th Place tie in the Standings with Manitoba. Sask's win coupled with Quebec's 7 - 3 loss to undefeated Alberta (9 & 0) Friday, sent those two teams into a Mini Game to decide 3rd Place at 5:00 p.m. today. The winner of the Mini Game was Quebec. 1 - 0.   Gloucester needed to win Friday to have any chance at the medals.   So close were the Standings in the Open Division that a Devil's win would have sent them to the Mini Game Playoff. ~~~ Gloucester lost to Alberta 5 - 1 late Thursday afternoon to drop their record to 5 & 3. Earlier in the day they defeated Southeast New Brunswick, the Host team 8 - 1   ~~~   B.C. and Quebec both vaulted over the Devils with back to back victories Wednesday over Gloucester.   First they lost to Quebec 3 - 2 early Wed morning. This dropped them into a three way tie for Second Place in the standings with Quebec and B.C. Then they lost to B.C. 8 - 4 at 3:00 pm the same afternoon. ~~~ The Devils won both games Tuesday to become one of only two undefeated teams (Ontario and Alberta) at the end of day two with a 4 and 0 record. The Alberta women had knocked off the other two undefeated teams Tuesday. (Alta & B.C.) The Devils defeated Manitoba, 7 - 1 early in the evening. They had won an early afternoon game against New Brunswick 8 - 1. ~~~ Gloucester beat Nova Scotia 13 - 6 and the PEI 8 - 1 in first day action, Monday.

Ontario Juniors WIN BRONZE. Manitoba Wins Gold; B.C, Silver. Manitoba Juniors soundly defeat B.C. 10 - 3 to win Gold at the Canadian Ringette Championships Saturday morning.   Whitby, Ontario's reps to the Nationals lost 6 - 3 Friday afternoon to British Columbia in the Semi Final Game to win Bronze. They lost earlier Friday to Manitoba 8 - 2 in final round robin play as well. Their morning loss moved them into Third Place in the standings with a 7 and 2 record and into the Bronze Medal Game.   B.C. nipped Ontario 5 - 4 earlier in the week to grab 2nd Place in the standings. ~~~ In previous round robin action Ontario had defeated Alberta 5 - 2 Thursday afternoon. Earlier they had blasted New Brunswick's Provincial All Star team to win 9 to 2.   ~~~ In Wednesday's action, undefeated Manitoba dumped Alberta 5 - 2 in the battle of the Undefeated Junior Teams. Alberta was then destroyed 9 - 2 later in the day by B.C.   Ontario's Juniors easily defeated P.E.I. 7 - 0 in another early morning Wednesday game and then Nova Scotia later in the day 8 - 1. ~~~ Whitby Won and Lost on Tuesday, both by one goal.   They beat Quebec in a 6 - 5 thriller and then lost an equally exciting game to B.C. 5 - 4 in the afternoon. ~~~ Whitby beat the Host team from the Southeast Regional Ringette Association of New Brunswick, 8 - 1 in the morning.
