The Gloucester Junior AA Devils
won the Silver Medal at
the Ontario Provincial Championships in 2003.
The Devils defeated
Waterloo 7-0, Nepean 10-3, Pickering 8-3, Cambridge 4-2 before losing
a hard fought 2-5 match to Ottawa in their final round robin game. This
gave the Devils 2nd place in the round robin and they played Ottawa
again in the Quarter Final with the winner advancing directly to the
Gold Medal Game. In a very exciting match Gloucester lost 2-1 in overtime.
This sent them to the Semi-Final against Pickering who put up a tremendous
struggle against the Devils. The Devils perservered to win 6-5 in again
in overtime to advance to the Championship Game
The final was like the previous two games, a thriller, perhaps the most
exciting game of the Championships in which Ottawa won once again in
overtime 5-4 giving the Devils their Silver Medal, and a very successful
end to their season.
